Abstract

Climate change has had a major impact on global ecosystems, including affecting animal adaptation patterns. Adaptation is a biological and behavioral effort that allows species to survive in the face of extreme environmental conditions, such as increasing temperatures, changing rainfall patterns, and rising sea levels. This article discusses various forms of animal adaptation to climate change, including physiological, morphological, and behavioral adaptations. For example, some bird species experience shifts in migration times, while mammals in polar regions show changes in metabolism in response to warmer temperatures. Genetic evolution also plays an important role in supporting the survival of animal populations amid rapid environmental change. However, not all species are able to adapt quickly enough, increasing the threat of extinction. This study emphasizes the importance of habitat conservation and the implementation of mitigation policies to maintain biodiversity amid the challenges of climate change.
