Abstract
21st century learning demands a transformation in the way teachers design, manage, and evaluate the teaching and learning process. Teachers no longer only act as conveyors of information, but also as facilitators, innovators, and drivers of learning change that is oriented towards critical thinking skills, collaboration, creativity, and communication. The purpose of this study is to describe the role of teachers in implementing 21st century learning and efforts to improve its quality at the elementary education level. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach. The results of the study on the role of teachers in Bima Regency in improving 21st century learning have experienced encouraging developments, although they still face various challenges. Teachers in Bima generally understand the importance of 21st century competencies, especially critical thinking skills, creativity, collaboration, and communication (4C), although this understanding still needs to be strengthened with more consistent practices in the classroom. The results of this study confirm that the role of teachers as facilitators, innovators, and preservers of local values is key to presenting contextual and sustainable 21st century learning, especially in areas such as Bima Regency which have a rich culture and strong local character.
