Abstract

The implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum has brought significant transformations in teaching and assessment methods at the elementary school level. Assessment is no longer focused solely on final learning outcomes but also emphasizes the learning process, skill development, and character building of students. This study aims to identify patterns and challenges in learning assessment arising from the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in elementary schools using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The method employed in this study is a systematic literature review that examines various scientific articles, conference proceedings, and academic publications published between 2022 and 2025. The literature selection process was carried out based on thematic relevance, source quality standards, and alignment with the research objectives. The findings reveal that learning assessment within the Merdeka Curriculum is directed toward the implementation of diagnostic assessment, formative assessment, authentic assessment, the utilization of digital technology, and project-based assessment. However, several challenges remain, including teachers' limited competence in developing assessment instruments, administrative burdens, disparities in technological facilities, and insufficient understanding of learning-oriented assessment practices. This study concludes that the successful implementation of learning assessment within the Merdeka Curriculum framework requires the enhancement of teachers' competencies, support from school policies, and the strengthening of educational infrastructure.
