Abstract

This study aims to analyze global publication trends related to ethnomathematics from 1984 to 2024 using data from the Scopus database. The analysis employed a descriptive bibliometric method using RStudio (Biblioshiny) and VosViewer applications. The results reveal a significant increase in ethnomathematics publications, particularly since 2019, peaking in 2024 with 93 documents. A total of 587 documents from 192 journals and proceedings were identified, involving 1,235 authors from various countries, with a dominant contribution from Indonesia. Keyword analysis generated four main clusters: (1) exploration of geometric concepts in culture using ethnographic approaches, (2) implementation of ethnomathematics in innovative learning, (3) critical perspectives and curriculum studies, and (4) didactic development and creative thinking skills. Additionally, seven emerging keywords were identified, indicating future research directions: temple, ethnographic design, transformation geometry, lutur batu, literacy mathematic, numeracy, and creative thinking. This study provides a comprehensive overview of the development of ethnomathematics research and serves as a foundation for future studies and the design of culturally integrated mathematics education.
